Project Background & Objectives

The International College, Energy Audit project was initiated to deploy advanced sustainability and utility optimization diagnostics for a premier educational institution in Beirut, Lebanon. Commissioned by Arina Energy, this targeted institutional assessment focused on restructuring power utilization patterns to reduce carbon exposure and heavy reliance on costly regional power supplies. Within this critical facility management framework, PDP Energy was selected to direct the comprehensive technical evaluation. The primary company-specific objectives centered on executing a complete Energy audit for all school buildings, where the engineering team successfully executed a level II energy audit for all school buildings to map consumption behaviors and identify deep structural energy inefficiencies.

Project Challenges

Conducting an intensive Level II energy audit across a highly active, multi-building urban educational campus introduces complex operational and data-modeling hurdles. Tracking dynamic real-time electrical profiles across diverse zones—ranging from climate-controlled auditorium spaces and high-density computing laboratories to general classroom facilities—demands precise technical coordination. PDP Energy had to navigate the challenge of gathering massive, highly precise consumption datasets without disrupting the school’s daily academic calendar or compromising student comfort. This required deploying sophisticated, non-intrusive logging devices, cross-referencing intricate HVAC system cooling loads, and modeling building thermal envelopes to isolate energy waste accurately.

Project Outcomes

Operating as the primary energy consulting partner, PDP Energy successfully formulated and delivered a complete Level II campus energy audit package. The project effectively established a highly accurate data foundation to transition the institution toward automated, automated and lean energy management. By delivering prioritized energy conservation measures and synchronized utility optimization strategies, PDP Energy’s engineering roadmap paved the way for implementing optimized power configurations that lower institutional operational costs, improve equipment runtime reliability, and foster a highly eco-friendly environment for thousands of students and faculty members.
