Designing the alternating current (AC) infrastructure for a high-capacity 7 MWp generation facility in an arid, high-temperature environment introduces demanding technical hurdles. PDP Energy had to navigate complex electrical design constraints, including optimizing medium-voltage substation layouts, choosing thermally resilient distribution cabling, and sizing high-efficiency step-up transformers capable of enduring harsh environmental conditions. Additionally, maintaining system reliability required engineering strict protection coordination and harmonic distortion mitigation schemes, preventing electrical imbalances from destabilizing the local network or causing critical equipment downtime.
