Project Background & Objectives

The Nasco Insurance Group, Energy Audit project was initiated as a primary corporate sustainability and utility cost-reduction drive to optimize power utilization across high-density corporate real estate in Beirut, Lebanon. Commissioned directly by the Nasco Insurance Group, the commercial optimization assessment aimed to systematically overhaul energy consumption patterns across the company’s regional facilities. Within this critical facility management framework, PDP Energy was selected to spearhead the comprehensive technical diagnostics. The primary company-specific objectives centered on executing a detailed energy audit for two office buildings, where the engineering team successfully executed an audit for the two headquarter buildings covering electrical loads, generator optimization, and a solar PV installation feasibility study to isolate deep structural wastes and outline a transition toward green energy.

Project Challenges

Conducting an intensive energy audit across two active, high-density corporate headquarters introduces distinct technical, analytical, and operational hurdles. Tracking dynamic electrical loads across complex office infrastructure—ranging from high-demand server rooms and IT mainframes to central HVAC cooling systems—demands meticulous logging precision. PDP Energy had to navigate the challenge of gathering massive real-time consumption datasets and structural building property profiles without causing any network downtime or disrupting daily insurance operations. This required mapping highly unstable municipal utility inputs, evaluating localized backup diesel generator efficiencies, and modeling complex solar shading constraints on the urban rooftop surfaces to accurately assess alternative energy viability.

Project Outcomes

Operating as the primary energy consulting partner, PDP Energy successfully formulated and delivered a complete multi-building energy audit and sustainable feasibility blueprint. The project effectively established a highly accurate, data-driven foundation to transition the corporate headquarters toward automated, lean energy management and localized renewable generation. By delivering a prioritized list of actionable conservation measures, optimized generator staging models, and a verified rooftop solar roadmap, PDP Energy’s engineering framework paved the way for significant utility cost reductions, maximum fuel savings, and a diminished carbon footprint across the corporate campus.
